It all started back in 1981 when Stewartie Adams joined his first Pro band, London based rockers Tytan... TYTAN : Original line up : 1981 : Kal Swann (vocals), Steve Gibbs (guitar), Stewartie Adams (guitar), Kevin Riddles (bass), Dave Dufort (Hermien Jerian-Dufort) (drums)... Ex-ANGEL WITCH men Dave Dufort and Kevin Riddles formed London based Heavy Metal outfit TYTAN in September 1981.  Despite a fanfare of press Adams left within months and later turned up fronting LYIN' RAMPANT. He was replaced by ex-A II Z man Gary Owens.TYTAN received substantial major record company interest, but opted to sign with indie Kamaflage Records and laid down plans to release the 'Blind Men And Fools' single during 1982 in advance of a proposed album. Unfortunately, despite the album being recorded albeit without Stewartie Adams or Gary Owens who also quit the group in 1982, Kamaflage Records went under before it could be released. It would not be before 1985 when the album, aptly titled 'Rough Justice', finally emerged through the Metal Masters label... Glasgow born guitarist and vocalist Stewartie Adams came back home to Scotland in 1982 and got together with old friends Cami Morlotti,Stewart Campbell and DD Gray to form a band called FALKEN, after a few months he then teamed up with  ex HEAVY PETTIN guitarist Eddie Trainer, drummer Tam Creamer (Tam Cramer) vocalist Gordon Johnston and Cami Morlotti again, later to be replaced by Edinburgh born bass player Georgie Pringle, after the band named  Escape had to be changed  to form LYIN' RAMPANT, Stewartie took over the vocals when Gordon had to leave the band  in 1986, they later added keyboard player Paul Stephens also from Edinburgh, There debut and only album UP and Cumin was released in 1987 by independent label Prism Records,The band eventually split in 1991 due to the unfortunate demise of Prism records and a number of line up changes...

"Mondo Metal" Review : Oct : 2013 :  Stewartie Adams - "Alive'N'Kick'n'"

In 1990 Scottish NWOBHM bamd Lyin' Rampant held its final show, then break up. Their singer, Stewartie Adams, decides to release the recording of this farewell concert as a solo recording, because the line-up who played on it wasn't the original one. With him there are Georgie Pringle on bass, Jakey Blair on guitar, and Wabby Groves on drums. The result is a nice, quite melodic show, in which you can hear all the distinctive sound features of the NWOBHM. Several echos of DiAnno-era Iron Maiden, and a certain compositive class, along with a title which can't avoid bringing Diamond Head memories to the mind of a NWOBHM aficionado like me : "In The Heat Of The Night". Since I don't love live albums, as I prefer live DVDs/Blu-Rays (a concert is an audiovisual experience) I can't consider this recording as a "must have" for genre collectors , but I can say without any doubt it's a product you'll surely enjoy. It's only flaw ? The pace of the tracks is a little bit too even and doesn't give the record the right vitality. For the rest we can say...good job, Stewartie !!...
